The guide prevents cleaning rods from bowing suddenly under pressure, which can damage the chamber and throat, by properly directing force applied to the cleaning rod to a centered patch and down the bore. Solvent leakage and the mess of cleaning are reduced and cleaning takes less time. The guide unit inserts and secures into the bolt position, fitting most bolt-action and AR-15 rifles.
