The 1-piece diecast aluminum frame and side plates provide exceptional strength, plus the compact design fits in your hand well. The Dura-Drag™ system slows the hardest runs, while the pull-to-turn preset knob prevents accidentally changing the drag setting, and the 40- and 60-size models have optimized drag progressions to tackle billfish. A forged and machined aluminum spool along with a stainless steel main and pinion gears further extend the durability of this fishing reel. The Penn Fathom II reel boasts 5 stainless steel bearings, and the 60-size reel has a removable top spacer bar and lugs.
