WINNIPEG, Manitoba (June 28, 2013) – Cabela’s, the World’s Foremost Outfitter® of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, has scheduled a second Hometown Heroes event at its Edmonton store in light of the recent flooding in Calgary.
Across Canada this week, Cabela’s is honouring those who serve the country and its communities with Hometown Heroes, which offers an employee discount to all veterans, active military and reserves, law enforcement, firefighters and EMS personnel.
However, since many of Edmonton’s military, police and EMS personnel are assisting with relief efforts in Calgary, Cabela’s Edmonton will host a second Hometown Heroes event July 19 to 21.
“We want all those Hometown Heroes assisting with efforts in Calgary to have the opportunity to take advantage of this event as a way of saying, ‘Thank you,’” said Jeff Tymo, general manager of the Edmonton store. “It’s the least we can do for those men and women who sacrifice so much to help others.”
To participate in the Hometown Heroes event, veterans, active duty military, reserves, law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel should present their service ID at check out at Cabela’s in Edmonton. Upon doing so, they will receive Cabela’s employee discount on virtually everything in the store. Some restrictions apply; see store for complete details.
The 70,000-square-foot store is located at 6150 Currents Dr. NW in Edmonton. Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
